Petty Officer Second Class - Aircraft Engine Mechanic

I joined the United States Navy in 2015 and served for nearly 8 years. After a few months of training, I was able to become a proficient aircraft engine mechanic. I was first apart of a fast-paced, high-stress command, working under my supervisors. I earned a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for my performance here. After six years of service and a transfer to a new command, I was promoted to a Petty Officer Second Class and became a shift supervisor overseeing a team of eight aircraft engine mechanics. My responsibilities included the training of personnel, execution, logging, and troubleshooting of propeller assemblies. My achievements are as follows:

  • Demonstrated leadership, accountability, and performance in high-pressure environments
  • Managed responsibilities as shift supervisor requiring precision, teamwork, and adaptability
  • Supervised the complete disassembly and reassembly of 54H60-77 Propeller Assemblies, resulting in a 100% Ready-For-Issue asset to local squadrons
  • Created a 54H60-77 Propeller test excel sheet to help train, execute, and troubleshoot in a timely manner, any Propeller that came in for rework, for an increased turnaround by 40%
